Everytime I move somewhere new and I see the camp yearbooks, I sit down and spend some time looking at them and missing the wonderful times I had at Camp Day ('88-'98). How the time flies. Since Camp Day, I attended college and am now married but still live in MA (not far from camp). I always think of going there just to walk around and reminisce, but never seem to have the time. Maybe I'll just have to make it because camp had such an impact on me. Happy New Year to all and I wish everyone luck. Keep in touch if you'd like, my mailbox is always open. Maybe I'll see some of you at a reunion.

When I Scroll through the pages on this site, I vividly remember the best years of my youth. My wife and I hope Camp F.A.D will become as much a part of my son Evan's life as it became mine. I started Camp F.A.D when I was 7 years old. My first day I cried my eyes out, chasing my parent’s car as it drove away. I ended up being a Camper for 10 years and a Counselor for 2 years. Fondest activities were Archery, Water Skiing, Nature, Monte Carlo, Ultimate Frisbee, Scavenger Hunt, Friday's Dance (Borrowing the Counselors Cologne), Computers, Dick’s stories around the fire, Capture the Flag, Summer Olympics, Air Bands, Underwear on the Flagpole, Breakfast in Bed, Cold Showers, Canteen, and making new Friends, isn’t that what Camp Day is all about. Whatever happened to the Time Capsule we buried at Simmons Chapel in the 90’s??? Hi to my Cabin 8 Camper, Jeff Baer good to hear from you. Do you still talk to Tom Rosoff ?? You guys were great. Also, all my summer friends I met along the way whom became more than just summer friends. Paul Green, Steve Goldberg (Chuck E Cheese), Josh and Adam, Saul Rajak and Mr. Bungle. My big brothers Goldy (CFAD American Idol) Matt Levine, Nathan, Ben Avashi, Brian. Dick McKnight quirky humor, remember 8/8/1988 at 8pm you bought 8 campers in cabin 8 pizza, that had 8 slices. Hi Karen Hathaway, I will tell Breyn you were asking about her. Anyone want a Gmail address, I have 120 invites. Someone post something....

From reading many of the entries, many reading this will be my kids' ages. Okay, time to admit I'm getting old. I have to say it truly makes me feel good to click on this site and read the comments that bind all of us Alumni together. The people I consider my dearest friends I met at camp 45 years ago. We still keep in touch. And have a special bond that time and distance have never destroyed. It is truly remarkable and a credit to the camp for creating an environment that breeds life long friendships. Wow...that sounded like the rambles of an old man...Maybe it is...When 's the next reunion?

Good show. I would just like to add that the fountain juice machine was pretty darn special as well. I was also wondering, have the plaques reached the end of the dining hall and doubled-back yet? If so, then I feel really, really old right now.

But most people who call me a fizzle don't get away with it. Actually, that guy who got away with it was the only one who ever called me a fizzle. After today, only half the people who called me a fizzle will have gotten away with it.

comments: Hello there everyone. First off, after reading all million entries, it became painfully apparent to me that most people who feel the desire to endorse a certain color war team do so by writing "Go Green!" Well, whatever happend to Gray is the Way, or G-O-GRAY go Gray, or the old crowd pleaser, G to the R to the A to the Y...? Jeez people, let's not forget the better half of the age-old color war feud. But enough of that. I've emailed a few of you, and I'm slowly making my rounds. But why wait for me? Shoot me an email; I'd love to hear from all of you. Also, Sean, you Fizzle, are you ever going to post an email account that works? Make that 2 out of 3 people who called you that got away with it, but I guess I'm running too. And finally, if anyone gets a chance, I'd love to get the details for the upcomming reunion. Guess that about sums it up. Take care, and I'll hopefully see/hear from you all soon. Oh, and of course, GO GRAY (I mean come on, it's the color so good they spelled it twice).

Also, this guy tried calling me a fizzle the other day and failed to get away with it, maintaining my 50% fizzle success rate. Sorry about those fake addresses I tried using in my earlier posts, this one should work for a little while. Also Gabe, I don't know why I'm thinking of this, but do you happen to have those pictures you, me, and Will (maybe Jon was there too) took in the Boathouse that one time? I'd love to get some copies of those. Also, can anyone here confirm/refute whether the Matt Waxman who writes for SI on Campus is the same Matt Waxman from Camp? There were a couple of pictures of him in this week's issue and I'm pretty sure it's him, but not positive. Anyway, gotta run. Take care all.

Little Elvis lashes out at Matt, leaving a nasty scratch on his hand, to which the vendor offers, "I don't think he likes you too much." SIOC correspondent Dawn Klemish: "Isn't that how you get Ebola, like in Outbreak?" That sounds like the Matt Waxman from camp to me. He always had a thing for monkey's named after Elvis, but they never did take a liking to him.

comments: MORE WAYS CAMP AFFECTS US... I still wait for a green light to go on before I enter my kitchen. I still find myself busting my roomates coming home at night claiming I'm on O.D. Every Summer I sit and hope for the phone call telling me I FINALLY made the Quaccumuasett Tribe. Every time I hear a Top 40 song, I think about how I can turn it into a Color War Anthem. Whenever I see a Plymouth Mini Van I'm on my best behavior. I renamed my den Bascom Lodge. Every day I check the mail for care packages. I refer to people under 10 as MIDGETS, and over 13 Seniors. When I hear TAPS I immediately go to bed. I still feel the need to sneak out at night and marker my friends. Beware to those attending the Reunion...because I will be there with markers a blazin'! And for those who missed out first memory edition... Here's some of the ways camp has permanantly affected us. Still searching for a store carrying Birch Beer..has anyone found this ANYWHERE?! - Still clanging pots and pans at birthdays. - Still can't bring myself to wear the color grey...GO GREEN! - Every time I see a bonfire I feel the urge to throw a chip in and thank my friends for the memories. - Every time I go to a lake house I feel the need to swim 17 laps to prove I still got it... - When lighting a candle I always think to myself "One light, the beacon light." Best speech ever! - I still haven't recovered from the Wheelchair Mary story...damn you Corky! - The Senior Field is STILL the most romantic place I've brought a girl after a dance. - Can you believe we hung the flag every morning, how great was that... - Comforted every night knowing we (The Mounties) created a plaque for ourselves so we'll always be a part of camp histoy..THIS IS REAL. Check it out, it still sits in the dining hall. (Don't take it down Dick, you're on it!) - Mike Mayzer is STILL the fastest man I've seen run in person. (My cabin 9 CIT) - Adam Wolfstorf is STILL the best singer I've ever heard in person. (My cabin 8A CIT) - Amy Kelly is STILL the hottest girl I ever knew from my childhood. - Amy McKnight is STILL the best actress I've ever worked with. "Darth Vader" only you will get that one Amy. - I don't do karaoke..I perform "airbands". - The Fazens are still one of the coolest families I knew, sorry "Hallen's" - Every time I meet a Burwick I hope they're related to Bill, Courteney, Ron... - Seriously how HOT was it that one of the girls cabins was called "The Motel". Alright we could go on and on and on...shout outs to all the great people we met over the years. Anyone looking to get in touch...WRITE! P.S Matt Levine where are you...call!

I've been many places around the world but I think spending 3 weeks in N. I remember everyone and everything from that summer, like it was frozen in my memory. I'll have to agree with Baer, that the dances were the bomb. One of the DJ's still has my Rembrandts CD. I've hit some snags along the way , but nothing brings a greater sense of self than the comraderie of good friends at camp frank a day. I have been on an all out campaign to locate and flush out any and all former "day" trippers to this heralded event. I have compiled a list and short of contacting Jack Bauer and Tony Almeida at CTU have scanned both sides of my brain for info . I have researched high and low and located a few more potentials to the committed list of reunioners , Jon and Jim Altman who have been located are safe and sound but due to prior commitments will not be attending , Bill kelleher is contemplating the possibility and with a little push from some influential people I believe will sign on the line which is dotted , Vic "one eye dialated " gobbi as well is unsure but is hinting at a possible come back tour. My mom ,Glenna Boland ,I'm sure would be delighted to go but she has several responsibilities ,and time is scarce and I have never been able to close the deal with her 781 769 2133 is her number and i'm sure she would love to rehash memories . I would love to be commissioned as the "super slueth" in tracking down formers campers and staff and planting the seed leaving email addresses and contact information to the camp. I would be like the modern day pied piper , flute and all. Imagine the evan dryers, the aaron bersteins, the alan baynes, the dave and jon gerbers, the joey priscos , the gary gauch's the josh weinbergs, suddenly appearing on the list of present day contacts. I would research it tirelessly, I wouldn't spam them irresponsibly. Nope i'd carefully and cautiously send them subliminal emails about "rejoining the camp day experience" Yup so many names so many faces , so much good cheer I love the october reunion time frame,. great timing kudos to the suggestor , the originator . jb

As I played softball I was almost brought back in time to when I was a kid playing on the senior field with my camp team. Sitting in the dining hall brought back so many memories of camp dances, camp awards night, casino nights, and meals with my cabin mates, the camp food.. my fav was the mac and cheese..back then.. what was yours? The food was delicious yesterday the hot dogs and hamburgers reminded me of the Unit Cookouts. Sitting at the flag pole after the apache relay brought back the memories of the many brisk summer mornings at the flag pole, pajama breakfasts cuddled with your cabin friends in blankets. Walking on the tour of camp again and simply remembering everything, was just awesome and almost undescribeable. I was so happy to see everyone, especially my first camp counselors who I remember fondly. I began camp a bit earlier at the age of 6 as my mom was the camp nurse, I stayed in Cabin 25 and even though my mom was just up the midget path being so young, I missed her. My camp counselors that summer, Michelle Rosen & Amy Brackman made me feel so comfortable, and I had the best time. It was so great to see you both yesterday!! Robyn Suvalle another camp counselor of mine in Cabin 24, how awesome it was reminiscing about Air Bands "Wake me Up before you gogo" Every time I hear that song on the radio it takes me back to our rehearsals in Cabin 24. Still remember the moves to this day. It was so cool to see Matt Boren, my former team Captain. Nathan Johnson, Scott & Josh Leiberman, Dick, Sonya & Amy, Diane Burley ( Fitzmaurice) Mark Goldshmit, Penny ( 5) who I swear has the same bark as the original Penny, The Krasnoo's, John Mangion, Michelle Riordan, and every one else yesterday, it was so wonderful to see all of you yesterday. It was so fun to sing the old camp songs. Thank you Amy , you did a wonderful job coordinating the event, let me know when the next one is, I am sure to be there. Also, leaving yesterday was similar to when your parents came to pick you up at the end of summer, it was hard to say goodbye and you didn't want to leave. PArt of me truly wants to return again someday soon to camp, possibly someday to be a part of it all again. Please everyone, take care of yourselves, and stay in touch, the emails are on the website, no excuses!! I wish you all the very best!! ~ Karen Hathaway

comments: I just wanted to thank Dick and Sonya and everyone else involved in putting that camp reunion together. I feel so lucky that my flight worked out and that I was able to be there. The camp looks better than I remember it and you all look incredible. The smell of the dining hall instantly brought me back to those incredible days of summer. I so look forward to coming back for the sleepover version. Thanks again. Love, Matt Boren.

It was such a treat to spend time with Jen Hathaway again and to see Karen Hathaway, one of my first campers! And Matt Boren, my darling...I hope more folks will make it to the next one.

comments: Hi I was a Camp Counsellor in 1996 within the Midget Unit. It was at camp that I met a number of people all of whom I hold a place in my memories, especially Dick and Sonia, The whole Aja family, Simon and Hannah and of course all my little campers. It is also the place where I am pleased to say I met my fiance Carol Mcneil, whom for those of you who remember us I would like to inform you that we are still together 9yrs later. Thank you Camp Frank A Day Richie.
